Obituary

Mary M. DiSola passed away on May 19, 2008. She was 94 years old.

Born in Boston, Mary grew up in Somerville and attended Fisher College Business School. She worked for Bethlehem Steel and was the first woman crane operator. Mary also worked for Filene’s in Boston as a sales clerk for over 25 years and for the Narjo Shoe Factory in Malden. After retirement, Mary took care of her mother for many years.

Mary was the dear sister of Elvira Alberti of Danvers and her late husband Joseph, Gilda Malatesta of Stoneham and her late husband Fred, Lorraine Mandel and her husband Fred of North Chelmsford and the late Michael, Nicholas and Anthony DiSola and Mathilda Lorins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden on Wednesday, May 21st at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. prior to the mass. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Entombment Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.

Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
