Sherwin, James P. Sr. of Marshfield May 19, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Looby) Sherwin. Dear father of Judith Morrissey and her husband John of Milton, Kathryn Buckley of S. Dennis, James P. Sherwin Jr. and his wife Gwen of Northboro and the late Teresa Maxwell and her husband John of Marshfield. Loving grandfather of Justin and Derek Maxwell, Jennifer Hayes and Jonathan Morrissey, Matthew and Andrew Sherwin and Lauren Buckley. Great grandfather of Charlotte Ruth Buckley.
Jim was a retired letter carrier for the US Post Office, a veteran of the US Navy During WW II and the Korean War, he was a member of the Marshfield Elks Lodge 2494, the South Shore Men of Harmony, the Hingham Cabaret, Marshfield 60 Plus Club and an usher at St Ann by the Sea Church Marshfield. He also volunteered for the Marshfield Council on Aging.
Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St (Rte 139) Marshfield Friday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass in St Ann by the Sea Church 591 Ocean Street Marshfield at 10:00 am.
Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery Marshfield.
