Marty S. Ring, 32, of Fitzgerald, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M., Thursday, May 22, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with Rev. J.W. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Ring was born August 16, 1975 in Fitzgerald to Shirley L. Taylor and the late Herman W. Ring. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1994 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Ring graduated with honors from Auto and Body Mechanics at Ben Hill Irwin Technical College. He was a former employee of Winn Dixie and South Central Live Stock. Mr. Ring was a member of Englewood Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman who loved listening to music at the Po Boy Opry and he was very proud of his Native American Heritage.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley L. Taylor of Fitzgerald; grandmother, Odessa Ring of Fitzgerald; brother and sister, Michael McPhearson of Houston, TX and Michelle Owens of Troy, NC; special friend, Reba Whitley of Fitzgerald as well as aunts and uncles.
