Obituary

Edmond J. Gendron, 79, died Monday, May 19, 2008, at Greenbriar Terrace Healthcare, Nashua, NH. He was born in Lawrence, MA and was a resident of Methuen, MA for 56 years. Ed worked for over 30 years as a Meat Manager at several grocery stores. His expertise helped many beginners develop into talented meat cutters. He was a hard worker and a great cook and through the years enjoyed preparing all the family’s holiday meals.
Ed loved to start each morning with his buddies at McDonald’s and then head out on spontaneous long drives: north through Vermont to the Canadian border; east to the Atlantic Ocean; or south to Twin Rivers or Foxwoods. He loved to relax in his home playing on the computer and watching wrestling.
Ed devoted many hours helping family with projects around their homes while sharing his wisdom and knowledge. He greatly missed his wife Carmen of 47 years who predeceased him in 1996. Ed was truly loved by his family and is survived by five children: one son, Stephen and his wife Karen (Danforth) of MA; and four daughters, Karen Burie and her husband, William of NH; Nancy Ippolito and her husband, Richard of NH; Sandra Dawson and her husband, Daniel of CT; and Diane Arlin and her husband, Steven of MA. He was a cherished Papa and Grandpa to nine grandchildren: Adam, Abby, Annabelle, Randy, Jess, Jill, Chris, Ed and Amy. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 22, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.with a memorial service at 7:15 p.m.
