Barbara A. (Polk) Hunter of Needham died on Sunday May 18th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Needham. She was 76 years old. Born in Boston, Barbara grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate of Dorchester High School. Mrs. Hunter was a Needham resident for 33 years and previously a Hanover resident for 12 years. The beloved wife of James W. Hunter, she was the loving mother of Janice D. Burns , Karen L. Pizzi both of Millis and Deborah A. Avondoglio of Arlington. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer Burns of Kauai’i Hawaii and Jeffrey, Lauren and Sarah Pizzi of Millis. Dear sister of Patricia M. Bjornholm of Brockton and Kenneth D. Polk of Quincy. Funeral services at the Christ Episcopal Chapel 1132 Highland Ave. Needham on Thursday May 22nd at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
