Maria L. Gladstone, 79

Maria L. (Barberini) Gladstone, 79, of North Easton, MA died unexpectedly at home on Monday May 19, 2008. She was the beloved wife of retired Easton Police Officer Frederick Gladstone to whom she was wed to on November 23, 1962.
Born in Santa Giuletta, Italy on August 11, 1928 she was a loving daughter of the late Carlo and Gemma (Giganti) Barberini.
She grew up and was educated in Italy. She met her husband while he was stationed in the United States Navy in Italy, following his discharge from the Navy the couple returned to America where she made her home in North Easton for the past 42 years.
Mrs. Gladstone was a retired Burler and been employed for Draper Brothers in Canton for 30 years prior to retiring in 1993.
Maria was extremely talented in knitting and crocheting and enjoyed helping others with her knowledge of the art. She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and Atlantic City and the many years of traveling with her husband to several parts of the country for his Naval Ship reunions.
In addition to her loving husband of over 45 years she is survived by her devoted son Frederick Gladstone, Jr. of Haverhill, Missouri. She was the dear sister of Alberto Barberini of Milan, Italy, Valleria Ghisolfi of Sydney, Australia and the late Francesco Barberini, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday May 31st at 10:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church 193 Main St. North Easton. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may remember Maria by making a donation in her memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
