BROOKFIELD_____Robert Charles Ruzycki, 63, of Brookfield, was born in Worcester November 11, 1944 and died at Mary Lane Hospital, Ware, on Saturday May 17, 2008.
He was the son of the late John V. and Frances M. (Wojnarowicz) Ruzycki. He grew up in Worcester and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1962. He then attended Worcester Industrial Technical School. Robert was a member of the Armed Forces. He lived and worked in various states, lumberjacking in Northern California, making log homes in Maine and finally settling in Central Massachusetts where he worked for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2003. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish. He fished large salmon of the Northwest in California and Washington State to stripper off the shores of Cape Cod. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Spencer Rod & Gun Club. He was a self taught guitarist who enjoyed meeting with friends to play. He was a longtime member of the first coffeehouse in Worcester called the Y-Not Coffee House.
Mr. Ruzycki leaves a daughter, Tanya Ruzycki, a brother, Paul Ruzycki and his wife Kristine, of Plymouth; a nephew, Adam Ruzycki, all of Plymouth; and a daughter, Michelle Anctil of Olympia, Washington.
The funeral will be held on Thursday May 22, 2008 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours in the funeral home are Wednesday May 21, 2008 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
