ODUM- Mr. Ray Davidson, 65, died Monday, May 19 at his residence.
He was a native of San Diego, CA and had lived in Odum the past 3 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving 4 years in the Vietnam War, serving an additional three years in the Special Operations. He was a former employee of the Walterboro, S.C. Sheriff’s Dept. He served as Commander of the V.F.W. in Dunnellon, FL and was a member of the V.F.W. of Wayne County. He loved building motors and drag racing and was the owner and driver of the infamous Romp Stomp Mustang.
Survivors are his wife, Ruth Davidson of Odum; two daughters, Barbara Hartman of Brunswick and Nicole Aurand of Murfreesboro, TN; three sons, Jon Aurand of Canton, OH, Chris (Mary) Aurand of Manchester, TN and Matthew Aurand of Berkeley, CA; a brother, Rich Davidson of Medford, OR; a sister, Teresa Estep of Lyme, CT. 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday, May 21 at 11:00 A.M. from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home with Reverend Stanley Todd officiating.
Interment will be Tuesday, May 27 at 11:00 A.M. from the National Cemetery in Nashville, TN.
