Salem: Amelia (Gromko) LeBlanc age 93, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Harborside Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers following a long illness. She is joining her husband of 62 years, the late Albert U. LeBlanc.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Simon and Barbara (Bednack) Gromko. Amelia worked at A.C. Lawrence Leather Co. from the age of 19 in between having her children, and up until her retirement. She devoted her life to her family. She loved to cook and did it well. Amelia's smile, soft spoken voice and gentle ways will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by: 2 daughters: Barbara Zimmermann and her husband Donald of Merrimac, MA, Linda Reynolds and her husband Raymond of Liberty, ME, a son, Ronald LeBlanc and his wife Luanne of Danvers, 7 grandchildren: Tony Negri of Peabody, Gina Filippone & Lisa Smith both of Maine, Keith Reynolds of New Hampshire, Leah, Brittany & Jessica LeBlanc all of Danvers. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew.
