Grace (Calabro) Giardino, who celebrated her 100th birthday Tuesday, died Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Continuing Care Center in Hopedale, following a long period of declining health. She was the wife of Nicholas Giardino, former longtime Franklin Planning Board member, who died in February 1985.
Born in East Boston May 13, 1908, a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor (Valarde) Calabro, she lived in Franklin since 1936 until moving to Hopedale several years ago.
She was raised and educated in East Boston and was a retired homemaker.
She was a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and AARP and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
She is survived by a son, Nicholas A. Giardino of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Wednesday at 8:15 a.m. from Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com), with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
