Salvatore Piccolo, of Arlington, died Thursday, February 27, 2003 at Mt. Auburn Hospital. He was 85 years of age.
Born in Italy, Mr. Piccolo lived in Arlington for the past 44 years. He was a Meat Packer for P.W. Rounsevelle. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. In World War II, he proudly served our country as a private in the United States Army.
Salvatore was preceded in death by his wife, Louise (Albano) Piccolo. He was the devoted father of Joseph and his wife Colleen of Belmont, Nick and his wife Sharon, and Dennis and his wife Kathy, all of Burlington. Salvatore was the cherished grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Salvatore, Joseph, Karen, Nick, Lauren, Kim, Catie, and his five great grandchildren. He was the son of the late Guiseppe and Annina (DeRusso) Piccolo and the brother of Anthony Piccolo of Somerville, and Cicivita Gallinaro and Marie Grossi, both of Italy. Salvatore was also the special uncle of Cosmo, Robert, and Anthony Nardella and many dear nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington on Monday March 3rd at 11am. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-7pm in the Saville and Grannan Funeral Home, 418 Mass. Ave. Arlington. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.
