Rosina C.(Abate)Hayes, a seventeen-year resident of Winchester, formerly of Brighton, passed away at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on May 17th. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Pigniato) Abate. A graduate of Boston Business School, she was a hairdresser for many years at the Venecian Beauty Shop in Brighton. She was the beloved wife of the late James R. Hayes, and the caring and loyal mother of James W. Hayes and his wife Maureen of Medford, & Maura Campbell and her husband Paul of Stoneham. She was the devoted grandmother of Kevin, Courtney and Christopher Hayes, and Colin Campbell, and the dear sister of Gloria Cellucci and her husband Tony of Sudbury, Jack Abate of OH, and the late Vincenza Rufo and her husband Tony of Brighton. Rosina is further survived by several nieces and nephews and her dear friends Louise O’Keefe and Ruth Castaldo. Her funeral will be held from the Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester on Tues. May 20 at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Winchester at 10AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visiting hours will be held on Mon. from 4-8PM.
