NASHUA,NH/WEBSTER - Mary Ann (Ryan) Butler, 65, of Nashua, died Friday night, May 16, 2008 at Umass/Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Michael F. Butler; a daughter, Holly A. Zagwyn and her husband Scott M. of Ashburnham; a son, Jon A. Butler of Nashua; 3 grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Joshua, Jacob and Sheila Zagwyn; 2 sisters, Margaret Lasko of Eastford, CT and Jane Wilk and her husband Ernest of Dudley; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and a grandnephew.
She was born October 23, 1942, in Webster, MA, daughter of John J. “Speed” Ryan and Anna M. (Szymanski) Ryan and lived here during her youth. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Elementary School in 1956 and of Bartlett High School in 1960. She resided in Framingham, Bellingham and Maynard, MA and in Saline, MI, before moving to Nashua.
In her youth, she worked in the office at Middlesex Casket Company in Webster and then at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley. For many years, she was the administrator of the office of Gate City News in Nashua, a distributor of the Boston Globe, retiring in 2004.
The funeral will be held Friday, May 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, MA, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, May 22, in the funeral home.
