SALEM - Bertha (Konovalchik) Lentini, 84, wife of the late Anthony J. Lentini, formerly of Lynn & Salem, died Thursday evening, May 14, 2008 at the Blueberry Hill Healthcare Center in Beverly, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alexander & Michelina (Arcisz) Konovalchik. A graduate of Salem High School in 1941, Bertha was a resident of Salem until moving to Lynn in 1950 where she resided until her illness.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed for 37 years at E. R. Sullivan Electric in Lynn.
She was a lifelong parishioner of the St. John the Baptist Church, Salem and was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, USA, Chapter #55, Ladies Auxiliary and the Witch City Post, #1524, VFW, Ladies Auxiliary, both of Salem.
Bertha is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. “Rick” & Lori Lentini of Lynn, two grandchildren, Michael Lentini and Rachael Lentini, both of Lynn, one sister Phyllis and her husband Edward J. Luzinski of Salem, a sister-in-law, Gabrielle Konovalchik of Lynn and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Andrey “Andy” Konovalchik, Stanley Lusko and Anne Defanski.
Her funeral service will be held Monday, May 19, 2008 at 9 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, Salem. Visiting hours are Sunday, 2 to 6 pm. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Burial is in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
