Obituary

Alice May (Chesbro) Pike, age 100, formerly of Mystic and Cedar Woods, Branford, died Thursday at Milford Hospital after a brief illness.

Alice was born in Mystic on July 25, 1902 the daughter of Carrie (Lawrence) Chesbro and Edwin Chesbro, an ancestor of William Chesebrough of England in 1634.

Prior to her retirement, Alice was employed for many years as a domestic aide at private residences in the Mystic area.

She leaves her two loving sons, Earl S. Pike and his wife Patricia of Jensen Beach, Fla, and Edwin E. Pike and his wife Esther of Milford, CT, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

Alice's family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 12noon until her service at 1pm. The Rev. Stephen Watrous, pastor of the Ledyard Assembly of God Church, will officiate. A reception will follow the cemetery service at the Old Mystic Baptist Church, Shewville Rd., Old Mystic.

Burial will be in the Chesbro family plot in Mystic.
