Obituary

Joseph Campos, age 83, of Fall River, previously of Somerset for 45 years. Passed away May 14, 2008. Husband of Agnes M. (Moniz). Born in Fall River, son of the late Carlos & Amalia (Antunes) Campos. Prior to retiring he worked as a Food Inspector for the U.S.D.A. for 22 years & the owner of Campos Market in Somerset for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II, a member of St. Thomas More Church, Am. Legion Post 228 of Somerset, American Federation of Government Employees Local 2910, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, & the American Grocers Association. He was a lover of animals & a contributor to the Faxon Animal Rescue League.

Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons: Stephen J. Campos & his wife Jeannette of Somerset and William Campos & his wife Sandra of N. Dighton. 2 brothers: Charles Campos of Somerset & Arnoldo Campos of Fall River. 1 sister: Eliza Rebello of Somerset. 4 grandchildren: Blake, Brett, Stephen, & Kristin Campos. 6 great grandchildren & several nieces & nephews.

His private funeral will be under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA 02720. In lieu flowers, donations to the Faxon Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St. Fall River, MA 02720 or to Hospice & Palliative Care, 502 Bedford St. Fall River, MA 02721.
