Theresa L. (Lonardo) DeCosta, 69, of New Bedford passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of Gregory J. DeCosta.
She was born in Providence, RI, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Zinni) Lonardo. Mrs. DeCosta was a bookkeeper at University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth for over 20 years. She was a Communicant of St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth and a former Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport.
Including her husband, survivors include a son: Matthew J. DeCosta of Assonet; 2 daughters: Mary E. DeCosta of New Bedford and Margo R. DeCosta of New Bedford; 2 brothers: Joseph Lonardo of Barrington, RI and Anthony Lonardo of E. Greenwich, RI; 2 grandchildren: Billy and Crystal; and several nieces and nephews.
She was mother of the late Melanie Ann DeCosta and sister of the late Anna Marie Silveira.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, May 15, 2008 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10:30 A.M.
Calling hours Wednesday 4 - 8 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
