Obituary

Derek J. Gray, 22, of Dracut, formerly of Burlington, died Friday, tragically, in the night club fire in West Warwick, RI.

Mr. Gray was born in Waltham, and raised in Arlington and Burlington.

A 1999 graduate of Burlington High School, Derek enjoyed athletics and music. He even played the lead role in his school’s performance of “Kiss Me Kate”. Derek was an enthusiast of professional wrestling. He had a special love for music. He played the guitar and composed his own music.

Derek worked in customer service at Lowes, in Woburn.

He is remembered for his kind manner and concern for others. At 6’ 5” he is described as having a heart equal to his stature. He was devoted to his father, Al; mother, Rosanne; sister, Lisa; family, friends and in a special way to his fiance’ Barbara.

Derek leaves his parents: Albert and Rosanne, his sister: Lisa, his paternal grandparents Marie Gray and the late Albert, his maternal grandparents: Pat and Frances Falino; and his Fiance’ Barbara McGill.

He was the nephew of Joseph and Patricia Misuraca, Joyce and William Obal, Robert and Jackie Gray, Patty Young and Betty Carnecelli.He was the cousin of Tara and Paul Smith and Danielle Gillis.

Friends and relatives may visit Friday from 2 thru 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.

His funeral mass will celebrated at St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, Saturday at 11AM.

Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
