In Hyannis, May 7, 2008 Lorraine C. (Benson) Smith, wife of Edward J. “Ted” Smith Sr. died at Cape Cod Hospital at the age of 76. Born and educated in Winthrop, Ma, Lorraine was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice (Palliser) Benson. Lorraine was a Pioneer in woman’s health care in Wayne, NJ, were she worked for many hospitals as a L.P.N. and was a volunteer for Hospice in Montclair NJ. At the time of her death Lorraine was living in Dennis port, Ma, were she enjoyed the beaches and also Volunteered for the Dennis Council on Aging bring people to their doctors appointments and taking their blood pressure. Lorraine was the mother of Edward Smith Jr. and his wife Karren of N.J., David V. Smith and his wife Chryse of Virginia and Daniel O. Smith of N.J.. Sister of Rev. Thomas Benson of Bangor, Maine and the late Martha Coville. Services will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton Monday May 12th at 12 Noon.
