Ethel Grace Gaff, 85, of Ocilla, died Thursday, May 8 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, May 10 at Frank Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Elder Ed McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in Brushy Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Gaff was born August 7, 1922 in Irwin County to the late Roy Q. and Bertha McMillan Freeman. She was a homemaker, moving to the community in 1972 after her husband retired from the US Air Force. Mrs. Gaff moved with her husband during his military career, living in Dougherty County, Okinawa, South Dakota and Homestead, FL. She was a member of Frank Primitive Baptist Church, the Ladies Circle and a former member of the choir.
Mrs. Gaff is survived by her husband of 63 years, James C. Gaff of Ocilla; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. James E. & Sharen Gaff of Jacksonville, FL, Michael E. Gaff of Cordele and G. Wayne & Wendy Gaff of Jacksonville, Fl; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; sisters & brothers-in-law, Louise F. Johnson of Irwinville, Agnes F. Kelly of Wray, Betty Laura & Robert Fain and Nelle & Cecil Rigdon all of Ocilla, as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Prentiss, Roy, Jr. & Cecil Freeman.
