
MARLBORO-Arthur E. Roy, 83, formerly of 3A Millbrook Street, Worcester, died Wednesday, February 26th in Westridge Healthcare Center after a long illness. He leaves a son, Paul A. Roy of Auburn; 2 daughters, Martha J. Grant of Holden and Linda B. Griffin of Worcester; 2 sisters, Doris M. Bonczyk of Westboro and Marie R. Babinski of Branford, CT; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, the son of Arthur J. Roy and Rose (Duquette) Horne and has lived here for most of his life. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in England.
Mr. Roy was a baker for Nissen Bakery for many years, retiring in 1979 and previously for Town Talk Bakery for many years. He was a member of the Bakery and Confectionery Union.
The funeral service will be held in O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, on Friday, February 28th at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, February 27th from 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 36 Cameron Avenue, Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.
