Thomas J.DiResta, 74, died April 26, 2008 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. DiResta was born in Lawrence son of the late John T. and Theresa (Gatti) DiResta.
Tommy was a longtime resident of Lawrence and Methuen and played on numerous softball championship teams in Lawrence, Haverhill, and Lowell during the 50’s,. 60’s, and 70’s. He played for the Holihans, Sycamore Club, Jeff’s Tavern, and the Hancocks.
For 36 years Mr. DiResta was in charge of distribution for the Raytheon, Co. before retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years; Claire P. (Dombroski) DiResta, and children Patricia Zembruski and her husband Richard of Lowell, John E. DiResta of North Andover, Susan T. DiResta and Stephen M. DiResta both of Methuen, one sister Anna Vaughan of Mesa, Arizona, and his brother Frank T. DiResta of New Hampshire, 9 grandchildren Kerri, Keith, Jarrod, Heather, John, Kaila, Stephen, Christina, and Sean, and one greatgranddaughter Ryleigh, several nieces and one nephew.
Tommy was predeceased by his son Frank T. DiResta.
A Memorial Service will take place on Monday evening May 12, 2008 at Marsh Corner Community Church 318 Pelham St. Methuen at 6 P.M..
