Louis G. Cefalo, passed away suddenly, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, in Medford. The husband of Margaret (Selvitella) Cefalo he was eighty-two years old.
Born in Boston he was the son of the late Mary (Ciampa) and Gerald Cefalo. He was raised in Boston a graduate of Wentworth Institute. Louis was a resident of Stoneham for over seventeen years, he and his family were formerly of Medford.
He was a electrician, working at the Revere Sugar Refinery, in Boston, retiring in 1983, to enjoy time with his family and friends, especialy playing cards with his many friends at ITAM Post 8 of Medford where he was a long time member.
Louis was a aid man with Battery āDā, 494th Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion, during World War II, and the recipient of the Bronze Star, for his through prompt action and efficient and outstanding devotion to duty, he was directly responsable for the saving of many lives, both civilian and military. His initiative, skill and complete attention to detail greatly alleviated the suffering and seriousness of casualties occuring within his unit.
Surviving in addition to his wife Margaret, are three daughters Linda M. Gallagher of Abington, Patricia Vienneau and her husband Gary of Salem, NH., Gail M. Fornaciari and her husband Chris of Framingham. He was the loving grandfather of Sara, Jackie, Lauren and Christina and the late Leigh Ann. One sister Virginia Wheeler of Melrose. He was predeceased by his sister Alma Malm.
His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Friday, February 28, at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. Medford, at 11. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting Hours Thursday 4 thru 8.
