LOWELL—Paul G. ‘Nicky NASCAR’ Dion, 64 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Saturday May 3rd, at Saints Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Esther (Marshall) Dion.
He was born in Lowell, on July 22, 1943, a son of the late George M. and Gladys R. (Walters) Dion, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System.
For over 30 years, Mr. Dion had been employed as a mechanic at Frank’s Towing, in Lowell. He was a past vice-president of the C.C.A. Club, in Lowell. He was an avid ‘NASCAR’ fan.
Surviving him are two sons: Paul M. Dion, of Alton, NH; and David Dion, of Lowell; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four sisters: Dorothy Dion-Tobin; Cathy Dion-Cox; Janet Dion; and Carol Ayotte, of Lowell; an aunt: Carol Comeau; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather with the family on Thursday at 11 AM at 11 Birch Street, Lowell.
Friends may call from 9 to 10 AM on Thursday, May 8th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street (Rte. 38). A funeral service to follow at 10 AM in the funeral home. Private committal.
