WORCESTER____John R. Shillinsky, 58, of 48 Ideal Rd., died Monday February 24 in his home.
He leaves his wife of 36 years, Joyce M. (Gagne) Shillinsky, two sons, Michael J. Shillinsky of Leicester and John P. Shillinsky of Worcester; a daughter, Cheryl A. Shillinsky of Worcester; one grandchild, nephews, nieces and cousins. A brother, Ronald J. Shillinsky of Florida died before him. He was born in Worcester, son of John B. and Rita E. (Plouffe) Shillinsky and lived here all his life.
Mr. Shillinsky was once a shipper and receiver as well as a titanium melter for Wyman-Gordon Company in Grafton several years. Before then he was a welder 17 years for U.S. Steel Co.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam war era.Mr. Shillinsky was graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School.
The funeral will be held on Friday February 28 from Henry - Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Ascension Church, 40 Vernon St. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday Feb. 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
