Katherine S. (Stanley) Clough, 91, formerly of Whitman died, Thursday May 1, in the West Acres Nursing Home, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Robert Clough. Born in Palmyla, ME. , she attended ME Central Institute. She was the daughter of the late Neil and Florence (Keene) Stanley. Katherine moved to Whitman in 1946 and was a resident until 6 years ago .She worked as an assembler at the Regal Shoe and Commonwealth Shoe, both in Whitman and before retiring she worked at the Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater for 7 years .Katherine was a member of the First Congregational Church in Whitman, where she sang in the choir and attended bible studies there. She loved to do all types of crafts and enjoyed working on her 3 family home in Whitman.
She is survived by her children, Rev. Dr. Robert A. Hanson and his wife Barbara of Plymouth, Sterling E, Hanson and his wife Roberta of Carver and Elizabeth Frasier and her husband Albert of Plymouth.; also the grandmother of 13, great grandmother of 35 and great great grandmother of 1.She was also the sister of the late Herbert Stanley, Eleanor Cohen and Barbara McLean.
Her services will be held Thursday May 8th at 10:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman .Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery Whitman. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 7th from 5-8 PM.
