Obituary

Richard L. Webb of Medford died on Friday May 2nd at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. He was 66 years old. Born in Needham, Richard grew up in Newton and attended Newton Trade School. At the age of 22, Mr. Webb joined the US Army and was a Vietnam War veteran. He had chemical, biological and radiological course training. Richard received the Purple Heart for his actions during the Vietnam War. After the war, he worked as a chimney sweep in central Massachusetts. Later, for many years, he worked for Jeep dealerships in the Newton and Watertown area. The son of the late Ray A. Webb and Laurice (Ferrran) Secheyco, he leaves his step father Anton “Tony’ Secheyco of Needham. Richard was the brother of Ray A. Webb Jr. and his wife Janet of Bellingham and the uncle of Michael Webb and his wife Robyn of Ca, Lisa McNamara and her husband James of Upton and Beth Niarchos and her husband Michael of Marshfield. Also survived by 5 great nieces and nephews. Funeral services at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Wed. May 7th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Interment services with Military Honor will take place at Needham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham MA 01701.
