Margaret "Peggy" (Lawlor) Corley, 79, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at St. Luke’s Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born in Burlington, Vermont on April 28, 1929 to Dr. Peter P. Lawlor and Marie B. Lawlor. She graduated from the University of Vermont with a degree in English and married Dr. Paul Edward Corley in April of 1951. They had two daughters, Lynn and Nancy, in Vermont and then moved to Massachusetts in 1958 where they had their third daughter, Elizabeth. Two sons, Paul Jr. and Peter, completed their family. Peggy lost the love of her life, Paul, in December 1994.
Peggy leaves to mourn her passing daughters Lynn Archer (& Joe Rogers), Nancy Aral (& Ziya), Elizabeth Corley (& Adam Jackson), and son Peter Corley (& Anne Prorok). Her son, Paul, predeceased her. She also leaves five grandchildren, Kendra Lemire (& Jeff), Alex Aral, Brooke Corley, David Corley and Lauren Corley, as well as two siblings, Marie Corley of Port Charlotte, Florida and Peter Lawlor (&Mary) of Burlington, Vermont, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews in Vermont and Massachusetts.
Services for Peggy will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11 am at the Apponagansett Meeting House at 856 Russells Mills Road, South Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
Her family would like to thank the medical staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, especially the nurses in CCU, and Doctors Pajak, Mello and Abbott.
