Obituary

AUBURN- Roger W. Parent, 79 of 12 Colonial Drive, a retired Print Shop owner and Operator, died Thursday February 20, 2003 in Imperial Point Hospital, Fort Lauderdale, FL after being stricken while vacationing with family.

He is survived by four sons; Roger R. of Shrewsbury, Paul M. of Auburn, William R. of Milford, and Robert S. of Worcester, a daughter Ann M. Lavoie of Westborough.

His wife Myrtle “Penny” Parent predeceased him.

Born in Worcester, son of William M. and Diana (Forget) Parent, he was raised and educated in Worcester Schools, graduating from Worcester Boys Trade School.

An Army veteran of WWII Mr. Parent served in the 73rd Field Artillery Battalion, Battery B. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Parent owned and operated the Grafton Printing Co. in Auburn for many years, he retired in 2002

A member of Saint Joseph’s Church, and member and Past-President of the Auburn Kiwanis Club, and Knights of Columbus, Auburn Council. Roger was active in Auburn Little League and Youth Sports programs.

His funeral mass will be held Thursday February 27, 2003 at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph’s Church 189 Oxford Street, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
