Mrs. Barbara E. (Sheehy) Sherry, of Rochester, completed her life’s journey at her
home on April 5 following a three decade battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of
George R. Sherry. She was born 66 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late John
and Grace (Doherty) Sheehy. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from St.
Mary’s Grammar School and the former St. Mary’s High School. She then graduated
from the Sturdy Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Attleboro. Prior to her retire-
ment, Mrs. Sherry was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Paul A. Dever State
School in Taunton for 20 years. She had previously been employed at Morton Hospital
and with the Taunton Visiting Nurse Association. Having moved from Berkley to Rochester 2 years ago, Barbara enjoyed life in her new condominium home, as well as
walking, birding, travelling, computer games, crossword puzzles and, in recent years,
spending winters in Naples, Florida. She was a communicant of St. Rita’s Church in
Marion and was a former communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church in Taunton.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street,
Taunton, on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow
in St. Mary’s Church, Broadway, Taunton, at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are in-
vited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Expres-
