Francis “Frank” C. DeCandia passed away on April 28, 2008 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a long and courageous battle and complications with leukemia. He was 22 years old.
Born and raised in Malden, Frank attended Cheverus Grammar School and graduated from Pope John High School in Everett, Class of 2003. He also attended Suffolk University in Boston for 3 years majoring in Journalism. Frank worked for Stop & Shop Co. while attending school and then accepted a job working for Boston.com as a writer. He was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams.
Frank was the beloved son of Frank and Marci (DelBene) DeCandia of Malden. He was the cherished grandson of Betty DeCandia of Malden and her late husband George and the late Carmen and Mary DelBene. He was the loving brother of Stephanie DeCandia of Malden and dear friend of Alicia Davidson of Amesbury. Frank was the nephew of Patty and Dave Bessette, George and Davina DeCandia, Greg and Angela DeCandia and Marie and Dana Brown. He is also survived by many cousins and friends.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Friday May 2nd at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are Thursday May 1st from 3-8 p.m. Interment Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
