Mr. Luis Gustavo Mendieta, 72, of Lawrence, Massachusetts and Ecuador, passed away on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 in Ecuador.
Mr. Mendieta was born March 4, 1936 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. He attended Military Academy in Ecuador and later immigrated to Lawrence, Massachusetts. Over the years he traveled back and forth between Lawrence and Ecuador. Mr. Mendieta worked in the Cable Department of Lucent Technologies in North Andover, MA., for some 30+ years. He enjoyed watching the Red Sox and was a big Fan of the Barcelona Soccer Team. Luis was an attendant of Holy Rosary Church and was very involved in Meals on Wheels.

His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 2nd, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick's Church in Lawrence, MA.
His entombment will follow in the Saint Mary's/Immaculate Conception Cemetery/Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA.
