Arthur Z. Mutter of Needham, a former resident of Newton Centre and Brookline died on Sunday April 27th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 80 years old. Born in New York City, Arthur grew up in Brooklyn and Baltimore. He was a 1st Lieutenant in the US Army during the Korean War. Arthur was a Needham resident for the past 11 years and previously lived in Newton Centre for 27 years and before that in Brookline. The devoted husband of Greta (Lehnkering) Mutter, he was the devoted father of Bettina Mutter Atkins and her husband David, Michael I Mutter and his wife Catherine Spalding and Jonathan A. Mutter. Loving brother of Sheila Mandelberg and her husband Hirsch and the late Herbert Bernard Mutter. Cherished grandfather of Daniel and Charlotte Atkins, and Sarah and Natalie Mutter. A memorial service will at the Newton Cemetery Chapel 791 Walnut St. on Thursday May 1st at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
