New Bedford- Maria R. Medeiros aged 95 years died April 26, 2008 at St. Luke’s, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Jose Medeiros. She was the mother of Antonio Medeiros, Honorina Calheta, Hilda Calheta, Natalia Medeiros, Fernando Medeiros all of New Bedford, Eduarda Chaves of Bristol, RI. and Eduarda’s twin the late Jose Manuel Medeiros. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 26 great - grandchildren.
Mrs. Medeiros was the daughter of the late Jose and Diamantina (Arruda) Da Silva. She was born in Água d´Alto, São Miguel, Açores, she lived in this area for 30years.
Mrs. Medeiros’s Funeral is from the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Wednesdays at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5- 9 P.M.
