Theodore “Ted” DeSimone, 92 years, died peacefully April 26, 2008 at his home. Born and raised in New Kensington, PA, he was the son of the late Ralph and Lillian (Mascolo) DeSimone. He was an Army veteran of WWII who entertained the troops as a band leader. Music continued to be important throughout his life. While in the service he met and married Vera Yanni whom he was married to for 60 years until her death in 2004. Ted had been employed for over 30 years by the Public Finance Company in Boston where he was a manager. He was a member and officer of the Sons of Italy for many years and a board member of the AARP. As well as his love for music, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren; time spent at his summer home on the Cape and had belonged to a local bowling league for many years.
He was the father of Ted DeSimone and his wife Connie of W. Yarmouth; John DeSimone and his wife Elizabeth of Saco, Maine; Elaine D. Flanagan and her husband Bob of Brockton and the late Richard DeSimone. Grandfather of Christopher, Gina, Jodi, Anne, Joshua, Emma, Michael and Kaleigh Great grandfather of Cory, Taylor, Lyric and Ty. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
