Pauline M. Berard, 80, of West Newton, MA., formerly of 397 Grove St., Woonsocket, died Wednesday at Wingate at Needham Home in Needham, MA.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Clovis E. and Juliette (Piche) Berard. She lived most of her life in Woonsocket before moving to West Newton. She was a graduate of St. Clare High School.
Pauline worked as a bookkeeper for several companies in the Woonsocket area, then owned and operated a laundromat in Blackstone.
Pauline enjoyed her large family. She was involved in and supported, through RIARC, the activities of her younger sister, Louise. Pauline cared for her mother at home until her mother’s death. Pauline also loved her nieces and nephews; at family gatherings, she organized activities for the children.
She is survived by her sister, Madeleine Boiteau, of West Newton, her brother, Normand Berard, of Woonsocket, and her sister, Jeannine Corrieri of Manville, many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and great grandnieces and great grandnephews. She was the sister of the late Muriel Berard, Therese Murtagh, Marcel Berard, Louise Berard, and Richard Berard.
Her funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington, Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will be at a later date in Precious Blood Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the John E.
