Obituary

Worcester- Rita B. (LaFond) Renaud, 75, formerly of 21 Addison Street, died Friday, Feb. 21, in Knollwood Nursing Center, after an illness.

Her husband, Edmond R. Renaud, died in 1986. She leaves a son, E. Roy Renaud Jr. of Dudley; five daughters, Geraldine D. Ducharme of Charlton, Paula A. Lareau of Worcester, Terese M. Matczak of Holden, Collette L. Renaud of Worcester, and Luann F. Madelle of Spencer; four sisters, Claire Kovach of Ohio, Evelyn LaFontaine, Cecile Douglas, and Therese Wiechniak, all of Worcester; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. Three sisters, Anita LaBonte, Lorraine Elie, and Jeannette Brackett, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Arthur and Lillian (Plouffe) LaFond and lived here all her life. She graduated from Commerce High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Renaud was a nurse for 30 years at St. Vincent Hospital, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, and the Association of Marian Helpers.

She enjoyed spending time with her family.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, Feb. 25, from Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street (www.worcesterfuneral.com), with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church Renovation Fund, 11 Whitman Road, Worcester, MA 01609.
