George Lewis Coppedge George Lewis Coppedge, 69, Adams, died Friday, April 25,2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2pm Monday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel with Rev. Terrell Marcom officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3pm till 6pm today and from 1pm till the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 25, 1938 in Dickson County, son of George L. Coppedge, Sr. and May Street Coppedge.He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife Betty Evans Coppedge. He was a farmer and a truck driver for McIntosh Paving,after retiring from Trane Co. He was member of Excell Baptist Church, he was active in 4H Club and in the Tennessee Cattlemen Association.He was the author the children's book The Story of Rooten Tooten Digger Pig. He is survived by his wife Martha Young Coppedge, two daughters Novella Jane Coppedge and Mary Rebecca(Jeff) Schneider,two stepsons Lester(Jo)Nicholson, Randy(Debbie)Nicholson,one stepdaughter Mitzi(Bruce)McGaha,two brothers Paul Coppedge, Gary Coppedge, three sisters Elizabeth Downs, Dot Frey, Jenette Gregory seven grandchildren Sam and Evan Schneider, Jarrett, Nick, Ali, Eli McGaha and Grayson Nicholson. Pallbearers will be Chris Carnell, Wayne Frey, Allen Downs, Kenneth Griffin, Matt Griffey, Danny Griffey and David Griffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Coppedge and Cliff Coppedge.
