Salvatore J. Giambusso, 87 of Medford, died Thursday after a brief illness in the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home, Chelsea, MA.
Born in Boston, he lived in Medford since 1946 and was the son of the late Rose (Dedio) and Frank Giambusso. Salvatore was a Pressman, for Federal Paper Board Company in Medford for 25 years and retired in 1980. He served during World War II in the Army as a Corporal from 1942 to 1945. Salvatore was a member of the Medford VFW Post 1012, and the Revere Sons of Italy. He enjoyed being with is grandchildren and also know for having a sweet tooth. Beloved husband of the late Katherine (Cagliuso) Giambusso. Devoted father of Kathi Abbott of Virgina Beach, VA, and Gail Giambusso of Attleboro. Loving grandfather of Erik and Shane Abbott. Loving great grandfather of Nicolas and Julia Abbott. Brother of Angelo Giambusso of North Andover, and Sarah Cammarata of Framingham. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be celebrated in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Monday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
