Marteace Yvette George, 38, of Huntsville, formely of Alcoa, Tennessee departed this life Monday, April 21, 2008 in Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her father, Leon Cass George, grandmother, Minnie Cleo George and uncle George Oliver (Bro) Tolbert, Jr.
Marteace accepted Christ at a young age. She attended Tennessee Tech University and was a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a degree in Civil Engineering and was employed with Huntsville Utilities for 13 years. Marteace enjoyed gospel music, scrap-booking, reading and interior decorating.
She leaves to cherish her memories her mother, Claudette Kirk, Alcoa, grandmother Flutchie Tolbert, Alcoa, half-brothers, Steven (Kathleen) Kirk, Louisville, TN, Michael and Kelvin George, New York, NY and Mario (Shelia) George, Alcoa; half-sisters, Karla George, Runnemede, NJ and Kim (James) Marable, Dixon, TN; godson, Inrique Henry, Alcoa; aunts, Annie Sudderth, Alcoa and Gwendolyn (Ronald) Black, Oak Ridge; great uncle Ernest Bryant, Friendsville, TN; cousins, James Sudderth, Jr., Maryville, Lesley (Andy) Wood, Nashville, Ron (Laura) Black, Jr. and Chris (Sonya) Black, Oak Ridge, Adam Black, Cookeville, and Shirley (James)Henry, Alcoa; devoted cousins, LaTisha Sudderth, Alcoa and Van Kennedy Wood, Nashville, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will recieve friends on Saturday, April 26, 2008 from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the Rest Haven Baptist Church which is located at 224 East Watt Street, Alcoa, TN services will follow with Pastor Dwight Frazier officiating and Pastor Paulette Pace as Eulogist. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa Highway.
