Robert J. Kowalczyk, 60, of Westport passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 at home after a long battle against pancreatic cancer. He was the husband of Kathleen Cummings.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Walter J. and Marion F. (Fay) Kowalczyk, he had lived in Swansea prior to moving to Westport in 1997. He was an Energy Conservation Advisor for Mass Save and also worked for the Westport Council on Aging. An active member of the community, he was presently holding a seat on the Westport School Committee and the Westport Alternative Energy Committee and was the 2007 Westport Man of the Year. Mr. Kowalczyk served in the United States Navy.
Including his wife, he is survived by a sister Patricia S. Gilligan and her husband Richard of Belcamp, MD; a niece LTC Susan Bryant; a nephew: Attorney Michael Gilligan; and his best friend Buddy.
