Obituary

Sr. Angela St. Amand, CSC (Sr. Mary Angele of Brescia), 90, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester died April 22, 2008 at her residence.
Born in Irasburg, VT on January 20, 1918, she was the daughter of Arcade and Georgianna (Stewart) St. Amand.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1937 and made her final profession in 1944. She served the Congregation for 71 years.
Sr. St. Amand earned a bachelor’s degree in math from Notre Dame College and a master’s degree in education from Boston College. She taught in elementary and secondary parochial schools in Massachusetts at New Bedford and Springfield, and in Nashua, NH and Burlington, VT. She also was Assistant Periodical Librarian at Notre Dame College.
She was later stationed at West Franklin, then retired to St. George Manor in Manchester in 1998.
The family includes two sisters, Margaret LeBlanc and Therese LeBlanc both of Newport, VT; two brothers, Gerard St. Amand of Wilmington, DE and John St. Amand of Inwood, NY; several nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: She will be remembered for her gentle ways and loving smile.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday April 24, 2008 in the chapel of St. George Manor. Burial was in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
