Mary Rose (Stahley) Moynihan, 91, died April 18th, 2008 at the home of her daughter Christine Moynihan Johnson and son-in-law Walter William Johnson in Haymarket, Virginia.
She was born October 8, 1916 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to the late Mr. Charles J. and Mrs. Helen V. (Sheehy) Stahley. Mrs. Moynihan was educated in Saint Lawrence O'Toole Grammar School and was a graduate of the Lawrence High School. Later she moved to North Andover, Massachusetts and was a resident for more than 50 years. Mary attended Saint Michaels Church in North Andover, MA. Her deceased husband Andrew Joseph Moynihan, Sr. died May 5th, 1967. They were High School Sweet Hearts and an example of what a marriage should be. Mr. Moynihan cherished his wife Mary and they were devoted to each other for over 34 years.
She enjoyed Knitting Afghans for her family, she was an exceptional cook, she was great at baking pies and loved to have family gatherings.
Her beloved Son the late: Mr. Andrew J. Moynihan, Jr. who passed away in 2007, was very devoted to his mother and had worked for the Tribune for more than 40 years.

Her brother and his wife: Charles and Virginia Dempsey Stahley of Nashua, New Hampshire.
Her daughter-in-law: Carol Scanlon Moynihan of whom cared for Mary and helped do her shopping.
Mary also leaves 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 8 nieces and nephews. She will be forever remembered as a Cherished Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Mary was the Sister of the late: Mr. Thomas J. Stahley who passed away in 2006.
Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24th, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church in North Andover, MA.
Burial will follow at the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover, MA.
