Obituary

DUDLEY - Chester Bysiewicz, 85, formerly of Mason Road, died Sunday, April 20, in Lanessa Extended Care. His wife of 60 years, Zofia (Wojnicka) Bysiewicz, died in 2005. His son, Richard J. Bysiewicz, Sr., of Webster, died in 2002.

He leaves a son, Dennis C. Bysiewicz of Medford; a daughter-in-law, Laurie S. (Allen) Bysiewicz of Webster; 4 grandchildren, John C. Bysiewicz, Michael C. Bysiewicz, Terry McKeown and Richard J. Bysiewicz, Jr.; 6 great grandchildren, Corey, Bree-Anna, Shayla, Caleb, Reika and Taylor; and a brother and sister in Poland.

He was born in Poland, a son of Harold and Stefania Bysiewicz. During World War II, he was forced to work on farms by the German government. He and his wife moved to this area in 1950.

Mr. Bysiewicz was a set-up man at the American Optical Company in Southbridge for 36 years before he retired in 1986.

He was a member of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and the American Optical Quarter Century Club. He was an ardent Boston Red Sox fan.

The funeral will be held Thursday, April 24, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Calling hours will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday, April 23, in the funeral home.
