SAGAMORE BEACH: Joseph A. Choate,73, of 15 Nauset Rd., died Sunday April 20 in University Commons, Worcester after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 44 years Janet A. (Forstedt) Choate, two sons Christopher J. Choate and his wife Lori of Wrentham and Timothy H. Choate and his wife Karolyn of Worcester, a daughter Heidi Choate and her husband Evan Perkins of Barnet, Vt., a brother Frederick Choate of Boxboro, three sisters Constance Maffei of Dedham, Marlene Chapel of Barnstable and Eleanor Schaff of Jamaica Plains, five grand children, nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by a brother Thomas Choate of Sandwich.
Mr. Choate was a software engineer at American Optical in Southbridge for many years, retiring in 1992. He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
Born in Boston, he was the son of Harold and Adrian (Caples) Choate.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 24 from 5 to 7p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7p.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, Ma.
