James P. Greenhalgh, 90 of Franklin died April 18 in the Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Phyllis (Mazzie) Greenhalgh who died in 1998.
Born in Everett, October 6, 1917, the son of the late James F. and Agnes (Kane) Greenhalgh, Mr. Greenhalgh was raised and lived in Everett until moving to Bellingham in 1994. Mr. Greenhalgh came to live in Franklin three years ago.
Mr. Greenhalgh had been an Auditor with the Internal Revenue Service for many years before retiring.
He had been a member of the Knights of Columbus of Everett and the Holy Name Society at Immaculate Heart Church in Everett.
Mr. Greenhalgh served in the Navy during World War II attaining the rank of Storekeeper First Class.
He is survived by his sons, James P. Greenhalgh of Franklin and Stephen M. Greenhalgh of Methuen.
He was the proud grandfather of 11 and great-grandfather of 14.
Mr. Greenhalgh was the brother of the late Francis X. Greenhalgh.
His funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23 in St. Brendan’s Church in North Bellingham at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin.
