Mr. Raymond H. Damboise, age 78, died early Saturday morning at his home in Pawtucketville following a short illness. For 57 years, he was the beloved husband of Anna (Sharpe) Damboise.
He was born in Lowell on May 28, 1929, son of the late Thomas & Anna (Parent) Damboise. He received his education in the Lowell School System.
Mr. Damboise served in the US Army from 1948 until his Honorable Discharge in 1952. He served in the 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC during the Korean War.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for over 40 years as a carpenter, most recently in partnership at Rusco Framing Company.
He was a communicant of St. Rita's Church; and was also a Lifetime Member of the CCA Club of Lowell
Raymond was an avid golfer and he also enjoyed camping.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Joseph & Nancy Damboise of Deerfield, NH; a daughter and son-in-law: Gayle & Paul Flathers of Milton, NH; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Victor & Claire Damboise of Derry, NH, and Gerard & Terry Damboise of Lowell; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Claire & Frank Kress of Lowell, and Pauline Kane of Davie, Florida; 5 grandchildren: Pepper Bechard of Merrimack, NH, Travis Damboise of Manchester, NH, Matthew Flathers of Farmington, NH, Michael Flathers of Stratham, NH, and James Flathers of Sanbornville, NH; 3 great grandchildren: Rebecca and Zachary Gleason, and Dalton Bechard, all of Merimack, NH. She was the sister of the late Lillian Giguere.
At his request, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday at St. Rita's Church-158 Mammoth Rd., Lowell at 9:00 AM. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Rita's Church or VNA Hospice of Greater Lowell.
