Obituary

Mary E. Casey 79, of 100 Front St. Woonsocket, died Friday at St. Antoine Residence in N. Smithfield. She was the wife of the late Leo W. Casey Jr. Mrs. Casey was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late Albert J. and Irene E. (Languirand) Cote. Mrs. Casey worked as a telephone operator for the former Bell Telephone Co. for many years, she was also a laundry aide at St. Antoine Residence and a cashier for the former Quick Shop on Front St. and the Little General on Social St for many years. Mrs. Casey was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She was also an avid bingo player.


She is survived by a son William Casey of Woonsocket, three daughters Patricia Brousseau and Carol Turner both of Woonsocket, and Deborah Hadley of Blackstone, MA, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Albert C. and James E. Cote.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. Anthony’s Church, Greene St,. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone. Visiting hours are Monday 6-8 pm.
