WORCESTER-Margaret (Sullivan) Carroll, 78, of Worcester, died Friday, April 18th in her home after an illness. Her husband of 53 years, Cornelius Carroll, died April 12th. She leaves two daughters, Sheila E., wife of James P. Cunnion of Southbridge and Betty A., wife of Daniel R. Chviruk of Worcester; a son, Daniel M. Carroll of Worcester; two brothers, Timothy Sullivan of New York, NY and Denis Sullivan of Ireland; three sisters, Nora Leary of Worcester, Bridget Lucey of Spencer and Teresa Brosnihan of Ireland; six grandchildren, Brian, Tori, Patrick, Brendan, Meaghan and Timothy; a great granddaughter, Alexa; and several nephews and nieces.
She was born in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland the daughter of Denis and Elizabeth (Burke) Sullivan and moved here in 1949. Mrs. Carroll was a nurse’s aide at Worcester State Hospital for 23 years, retiring in 1992. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren.
The funeral is Wednesday, April 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, April 22nd from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
