Martin L. Paul, 98, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Friday, April 18, 2008 at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday, April 20, 2008, in the Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Visitation will be held 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Paul was born November 20, 1909 in Turner County to the late Will and Sallie Hogan Paul. He moved to Fitzgerald in 1940 from Turner County and was a resident of the Golden Apple Assisted Living in Moultrie for the past two years. Mr. Paul was a retired salesman for Walker Tire & Battery Company in Fitzgerald. He was an active member, former Deacon and Sunday School teacher at Arbor Baptist Church.
Mr. Paul is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Wayne & Sue Paul of Birmingham, AL; daughter-in-law, Beth Paul of Moultrie; grandchildren, Charles Paul, Pam Holladay, John Paul, Rhonda Priest and Angela McCard; 9 great grandchildren and a brother, John William Paul of Jacksonville, FL. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lee Gaines Paul, son, Ronald Paul, 1 brother and 2 sisters.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Arbor Baptist Church, 1137 Merrimac Drive Extention, Fitzgerald, GA 31750.
